April Newman

April is entering her sixth year coaching with NorthEast Thunder and continues to bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the club. In addition to her role with NET, she also actively coaches with Capital Sliders VBC and previously spent three years coaching with NYC Juniors VBC.

April’s playing career includes four years at East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, and four years with High Country VBC, where she helped her team earn a third-place finish at the 2002 USAV National Championships. She went on to compete at the NCAA Division I level for four years at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York.

Known for her energy, dedication, and love for the game, April is committed to developing well-rounded athletes and is proud to be part of the NorthEast Thunder coaching staff. She values the opportunity to help players grow both on and off the court.
